godcasting - what's next?...

As religious groups enter the podcast arena I'm afraid to say I made myself laugh out loud earlier with these...

A whole new world of fishing information - "rodcasting"

I'm just fed up with the whole thing - "sodcasting"

Especially for building labourers - "hodcasting"

Any 50's throwbacks or fans of The Jam - "modcasting"

haha...

podcast nine is go...

ilovepdg podcast nine is now live - next week we'll be in double figures... doesn't time fly when you're having fun?

Nice link from Rich...! in his blog review of Seth's new book and Seth's comments about "how funny we are" gets a wider airing - rather than just the e-mail conversation.

We talk about:
- architects going over budget and over time
- design initiatives in UK
- me not wearing a kilt to my brother-in-laws wedding next week

and other stuff...

The Force is strong in this one...

ilovepdg podcast show eight has been renamed the "we love seth godin podcast" in honour of his new book - also our cool "revenge of the seth" animation...

Mark Haywood also demonstrates how to make your own stormtrooper uniform...

...all I need now is that light saber for my birthday next month!

podcast evangelism - a reality check...

Talking to some customers yesterday about blogging, RSS and podcasting -- I need some material to support this now...

We talk in show seven about mainstream media only just catching up with blogging - let alone podcasting.

I think this is a bit of a reality check for me - it'll be a good few years before the "world at large" gets it... (in fact as we've discovered with websites, e-newsletters and other stuff - lots of people will never get "it"...)

but then - that's why we don't fear change... what's next?

The Life / Blog Balance...

Still trying to determine how much time to commit to blogging - versus the ilovepdg podcasting and the metric diet project + I want to write another screenplay...

I think the next step is some podcasts on the metric diet - see what it's like doing some "talking to myself" as oppossed to the double act with Dave.

Also - it's that time of year where we've got parties, holidays, birthdays, a wedding, our anniversary - the garden needs sorting - the list goes on...

No news is good news...

It occurs to me that this old adage is very true and I think explains the problems we face with the 24/7 news cycle culture...

There just isn't that much happening in the world that is important in the longer term scheme of things!

Stuff not happening is really good... for everyone - except people who work in the media.

We should all spend less time on the unimportant stuff happening now and spend more time looking at a much broader historical sense of things.

If you get a chance listen to some "History according to Bob" - I can't remember how I found him - but I'm glad I did - some little gems that put a lot of stuff into perspective...

Back in the UK...

Interestingly - after immersing myself in the blogosphere and with the podcasting of the last couple of months - I have had no access to e-mail and internet for 6 days...

It was my choice... I could have taken my laptop with me - I could have visited an internet cafe - I know that there was access within the holiday complex we stayed in.

Know what? I didn't miss being connected at all...

Read some books - listened to some music (no podcasts) - played some golf...

recommended read - The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency

excellent...
